Let your laptop battery live longer

Whenever your laptop is plugged in but your battery is still in the computer, it either constantly gets recharged, or the system lets it empty until it is about 95% charged, and then charge it again, etc.

All this depends on your software, but anyway your battery gets pointlessly involved in the power activity of you computer when you really don't need it.

Therefore, a very simple thing to do is just remove the battery from the computer (when it is about 50% full, neither fully charged nor nearly empty) whenver you know you will probably spend a few days without moving your laptop and can let it plugged it all the time.

That way, your battery will go through fewer charge/empty cycles, and its lifetime will be increased.
